I have invited my Party colleague and our Dublin Spokesperson, John Lahart TD plus a representative from Transdev to come and address and listen to the concerns from the public. Please share this event on social medie to ensure all commuters and motorists are aware of it.

While the Goverment recently launched their National Development Plan, Project Ireland 2040 to much fanfare, it is clear that their plan lacks ambition for Dublin. Several of the announcements contained within the plan, 179 to be precise, have been previousl announced. Worryingly though for south county Dublin, the Government have scaled back on previous commitments to improve Dublin's public transport infrastructure here.

For example, DART Underground, the LUAS Green Line extension to Bray have all been shelved until at least 2027. It seems that there will be no further upgrades along the LUAS Green Line between Bride's Glen and Sandyford during the same period.

In the meantime, more than 8,000 homes are to be built in Cherrywood with more than 30,000 residents plus 25,000 people working in the same area. Despite all this, the LUAS Green Line is presently close to capacity so the public cannot and should not be asked to wait more than 10 years for much needed improvements along this vital piece of infrastructure. Since its launch in December, LUAS Cross City has witnessed severe overcrowding on trams, gridlock across Dublin City and many regular LUAS commuters telling of their story about the chaos on the LUAS, missing scheduled trams, not being comfertable or of late, fewer trams along the Green Line.

In response to the volume of communication that I have received over the last number of months from the travelling public, I am organising a public meeting on Monday 5th March at 8pm in the Cabinteely Pastoral Centre.
