PUBLIC CONSULTATION ON MERRION GATE / ROCK ROAD INTERSECTION EXTENDED:
The National Transporation Authority (NTA) has extended its consultation period on the proposed changes to the Merrion Gate / Rock Road junction until Tuesday 31st January. Cllr. Devlin is encouraging all interested parties to make a free submission. For more information click here

PROPOSED TRAFFIC CALMING ALONG COMMONS ROAD, SHANKILL
Cllr. Devlin has advised local residents of the proposed plan by the Council to install traffic calming measures along the Commons Road. The deadline for public submissions on this scheme is Friday 13th January. Click here for more information and to make a free online submission.

PLANNING APPLICATIONS LODGED FOR BULLOCH HARBOUR SITE
Cllr. Devlin attended a public meeting organised by the Bullock Harbour Preservation Association which was attended by over 400 local residents. At the meeting, Cllr. Devlin outlined his opposition to the plans and confirmed he was lodging his own observation to both applications. He is organising an Information Evening on Wednesday 11th January at 8pm upstairs in the Club Public House, Dalkey to give further information on the proposals and to assist individuals wishing to make an observation. NEW N11 / CHERRYWOOD ACCESS ROAD - PUBLIC CONSULTATION PROCESS

PLANS UNVEILED FOR SPECIALIST HOSPITAL ALONG THE DUBLIN ROAD:
A plan has been lodged with Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council for a specialist hospital along the Dublin Road on the Aske House site for a 56 patient in-bed unit alogn with associated works. SHANKILL SHOPPING CENTRE UP-DATE
Lidl Ireland have confirmed that they have purchased the Shankill Shopping Centre. On Monday 24th April they intend on hosting a public information evening in Shanganagh Park House from 6-8pm for local residents to go through their proposals for the shopping centre site. I welcome the fact that this centre will now re-open and serve the local community.

SHANKILL TIDY TOWNS SPRING CLEAN-UP - SAT 22nd APRIL
The annual Spring Clean-Up in Shankill takes place on Saturday 22nd April and you're invited! The committed volunteers of Shankill will be meeting at 2pm outside of the Shankill Garda Station or at the top of Quinn's Road. PUBLIC CONSULTATION ON THE SHANGANAGH-WOODBROOK LOCAL AREA PLAN:
The drawings and proposals for the Woodbrook and Shanganagh area of Shankill are on public display. There will also be several public information sessions held during the consultation phase. DÚN LAOGHAIRE HARBOUR GETS SET TO CELEBRATE ITS 200th ANNIVERSARY
In May 2017, the Dún Laoghaire Harbour will celebrate its 200th anniversary. In order to prepare for this significant event, the Dún Laoghaire Harbour Company have engaged with a large number of stakeholders to form a Bicentenary Steering Group. To read more about its work, click here

LIDL HOST INFORMATION EVENING ON SHANKILL SHOPPING CENTRE
There was a large turnout at the information evening hosted by Lidl Ireland where varying views were expressed by local residents. Their proposal will include a new Lidl shop, O'Donnell's Pharmacy, a separate stand-alone cafe, a medical centre and creche. JOIN SHANKILL TIDY TOWNS COMMUNITY PICNIC & HISTORICAL WALK
Shankill Tidy Towns have kindly invited all local residents to join them on a historical walk and picnic (at Shanganagh Caslte grounds) on Bank Holiday, Monday 1st May. The walk starts at 11am from the Shanganagh Castle Grounds) and the picnic starts at 2pm (same place). For more information on this event, please click here

COUNCIL REQUESTS ADDITIONAL INFORMATION FROM LIDL
ABOUT THEIR PROPOSED SHANKILL SHOPPING CENTRE PLANS
Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown has sought additional information and clarity about specific aspects of the plans put forward by Lidl for the Shankill Shopping Centre. Cllr. Devlin spoke with the Southside People about issues that local residents have raised with him. Read more here
THE NATIONAL REHABILITATION HOSPITAL (NRH) DÚN LAOGHAIRE COMMENCES CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW €68M, 120 BED UNIT
Tonight the NRH announced that John Paul Construction were the winning firm that will build the NRH's new, 120 bed unit (Phase I). The second phase which still does not have funding approval yet negociations are still on-going between the NRH and the HSE. This phase could cost approximately €50-€60m but would bring the bed capactiy up from the current 108 to 235 much needed beds. The staff at the NRH provide excellent care to their patients on a daily basis, despite the old building that they work in. COUNCIL ROAD WORKS ALONG THE WYATVILLE ROAD DUAL CARRIAGEWAY
The Council is advising local residents that works on the Wyattville Road Pedestrian and Cycle Improvement Scheme (between Wyattville Close and Churchview Road) are expected to continue until May 2018. From Wednesday 27th September at 9:30am until Friday 29th September at 5pm the slow lane (inbound) will be closed. This is to facilitate the laying of the final kerb stones (on that side of the road) between the Old Wyattville Road and Churchview Road (click on image on the left to see the lane closure). YOUR FIANNA FÁIL PUSH FOR & DELIVER A
15% REDUCTION IN THE LOCAL PROPERTY TAX
Your Fianna Fáil on Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council have continued to deliver on our pledge to reduce the Local Property Tax (LPT) where possible on an annual basis. "This unfair, inequitable tax must be reviewed" according to Cllr. Devlin. We are the only mainstream political party to continuously push for a reduction of the LPT on our Council. Read more here

APPLY FOR DLR COUNCIL GRANTS BEFORE OCTOBER 13th, 2017
Cllr. Devlin is advising all sports, community, arts, heritage and business groups/organisations operating within Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown to apply for the latest round of Council grants for 2018. The deadline for applying for this grant is Friday 13th October at 5pm. There are a number of information mornings/evening going to be held to help and guide groups through the application process. A MAJOR PLANNING APPLICATION LODGED FOR THE BUILDING OF
A NEW TOWN CENTRE IN CHERRYWOOD
Hines Ireland have confirmed that they have lodged a major planning application for the construction of a new town centre for Cherrywood.  It is for a 2.1 million-square-foot plan that includes; 1,250+ apartments plus shops, restaurants, cafes and community facilities.  These will include 1,269 build-to-rent apartments, as well as over 585,000 square feet of retail and leisure outlets. COUNCIL PROPOSES EXTENSION TO SHANGANAGH PARK HOUSE
Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council is proposing a single storey extension to Shanganagh Park House. The purpose of this new extension is for a general purpose room plus a wheelchair toilet, a small office and a lobby. It will be accessed both from the ground level and/or by external stairs. DEVLIN WELCOMES SHANKILL VILLAGE
AS PART OF THE PILOT BIKE SCHEME FOR DÚN LAOGHAIRE-RATHDOWN
Cormac Devlin has welcomed the announcement by Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council that the first ever bike scheme is going to be introduced on a pilot basis from early November. Cllr. COUNCIL ANNOUNCES LOUGHLINSTOWN DRIVE RESURFACING
Cormac is advising the Loughlinstown residents that road restoration works along Loughlinstown Drive will begin on Monday 6th November and continue until Friday, 15th December 2017. The hours of operation will be from 10am - 4pm (in the section of the road that is close to the Loughlinstown Drive/Wyattville Road junction) and from 8am - 6pm for all other parts of the road. A local Stop/Go traffic management plan will be in operation.

SANTA ARRIVES INTO SHANKILL VILLAGE ~ ALL WELCOME
It's been confirmed, Santa is going to come to Shankill Village this Christmas on Sunday, 26th November 2017 between 2-3 pm. There will be considerable delays if trying to drive through the village so please use alternative routes. Local access will be maintained at all times.

ROAD WORKS AT COIS CAIRN, OLD CONNAUGHT
The Council has advised that a GPR survey and road restoration works will continue along Old Connaught until Friday 15th December 2017 from 8am -6pm . A traffic management plan and local access will be maintained throughout the works.

EXTENSIVE ROAD WORKS ALONG R118 / WYATVILLE DUAL CARRIAGEWAY
The Council has advised that major road works along the Wyattville Dual Carriageway, between the M50 (Junction 16) and the N11 at Cherrywood. These works are expected to continue until March 2018. During free-flow there will be no road restrictions, with at least two traffic lanes opened in both directions. Works will continue in the verges and slip lanes off the carriageway.

COUNCIL APPROVES MORE THAN €529K IN GRANTS
Cllr. Devlin has welcomed the decision by Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown to award 334 groups and associations with more than €529K in Council Grants. "This represents an increase of 40 projects on the previous round plus an increase in the overall funding. These grants form an important part of the operation and running of many of these organisations and festivals. Out of the 438 applications received, 334 have been approved for funding. This round sees many sporting, community, artistic and business groups benefit from the funding. A huge amount of work was put into this project by the staff of Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council who held 8 public information workshops in advance of the deadline. I want to commend them on the work that they have done and I congratulate all of the recipients who equally put an enormous amount of work into their respective applications.
