Local Councillor, Cormac Devlin has advised local residents living in and around Mounttown Road Lower that from Tuesday 27th January until Friday 22nd May 2015 works will begin to lay new water and foul water pipes along this Road. This is to facilitate the development of the northern section of the former Dún Laoghaire Golf Club.
As a result Mounttown Road Lower will be closed off to two-way traffic for this period and a one-way system will be in operation on a 24 hour basis (in the direction of York Road to the junction at Kill Avenue). Residential access will be maintained at all times. All buses using this road (en route to Dún Laoghaire Town) 46A, 63 & 75 will be diverted through Abbey Road, Monkstown Avenune and Oliver Plunkett Road for the duration of these works.
Once those works are complete, the work will then transfer to the following residential roads; Mounttown Park, Woodlawn Park & Tivoli Close between 6th May until 28th August. Mounttown Road Lower will be back fully operational at this point.
A public meeting for residents living in the immediate vacinity of Mounttown Road Lower will take place on Wednesday 10th December at 8pm in McCormack’s Public House. The contractors will be in attendance to answer any questions that people may have.
