DEVLIN TO CONTEST THE NEXT GENERAL ELECTION IN DÚN LAOGHAIRE

Cormac was selected by the members of Fianna Fáil to contest the next General Election. Cormac polled exceptionally well as a first time candidate in the last General Election attracting over 4,600 first preference votes. Cormac remains focused on tackling the issues facing constituents across the Dún Laoghaire constituency. CHRISTMAS TREE RECYCLING
Click here to download a helpful guide on where you can recycle your Christmas tree and get information on bring centres in our area. Members of Cuala GAA are raising money for Habitat for Humanity so they're willing to collect and recycle your Christmas tree for as little as €5. You can call or text  Alex, Cillian, Eoin/Louie on 087 299 7192 to arrange it.

REGISTER TO VOTE!
All residents should check to make sure that their details are correct on electioral register by visiting checktheregister.ie. If you have recently moved into the area, changed address or have turned 18 years old then you should print off the required form by clicking here, have them stamped at your local Garda station and send them to Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown. If you have any questions, please call the Franchise Section of the Council on (01) 205 4880

IS IRELAND'S CORPORATION TAX RATE UNDER THREAT IN THE EU? 
~ HAVE YOUR SAY BEFORE THURS 17th JAN 2019 ~
Thursday 17th January is the deadline for the residents and businesses across Ireland to have their say on how the EU views members states ability to set their own Corporatation Tax Rate and their right to veto any change to the existing system. This comes in the wake of the threat to Ireland posed by Brexit. Cormac is encouraging people to have their say by clicking here.

DO YOU REQUIRE FUNDING FOR YOUR SOCIAL ENTERPRISE?
If so, €1.6m has been allocated to a new Social Innovation Fund in Ireland (SIFI). The objective of the fund is to find and back social enterprises that have developed a project that will add to the social and economic fabric of their community by way of social impact.  A simple Stage 1 application is required before Friday 25th January 2019. DUBLIN CITY PROPOSE INCREASED PARKING CHARGES - HAVE YOUR SAY!
Dublin City are proposing new parking bye-laws for the city centre and they are proposing to increase the parking charges in the yellow zone to €3.20/hour and €2.70/hour in the red zones (this is an increase of 9% & 11% respectively) plus an increase in the all day rate to €9. DEANSGRANGE LIBRARY TO OPEN 365 DAYS A YEAR!
The Council has announed as part of Open Libraries strategy that Deansgrange Library will now be open 365 days a year from 8am - 10pm. To find out more and how it works, click here

BUS CONNECTS LAUNCH CONSULTATION ABOUT IMPROVED BUS & CYCLE LANES
Cormac is inviting the public to view the plans for improved bus and cycle lanes going from (#15) Blackrock - Merrion or (#14) UCD - City Centre or (#13) Bray - City Centre. There will be a number of consultation days held shortly. BUSINESS NETWORKING PIER TO PIER WALK - FRIDAY 8th MARCH @ 2:30pm
Join other local business owners (as part of the DLR Enterprise Week (4th - 8th March) when they set off on the 4th Pier to Pier walk. It takes place on the East Pier on Friday 8th March and you must register by clicking here and the assembly point is at the Harbour Plaza at 2pm.

Several residents have reported to Cormac that while they have reported blocked gullies in the past, some of them haven't been unblocked. If you know of a blocked gully that needs to be cleared / unblocked by the Council, then you can report it here

COUNCIL GRANTS OPEN FOR APPLICATIONS UNTIL THURSDAY 18th APRIL
Cllr Devlin is advising all community, arts & business groups to consider applying to the Council's Grants Scheme (Round 2) which is open for applications until Thursday 18th April. DEVLIN CONGRATULATES DR. MICHAEL CLARK & HELENA KELLY 
ON BEING SELECTED IN THIS AREA FOR THE LOCAL ELECTIONS
Cllr Cormac Devlin has congratulated Dr. Michael Clark & Helena Kelly on being selected as candidates in the upcoming local elections for the Killiney-Shankill Local Electoral Area (LEA). "I have known Michael personally for many years and I believe this strong ticket of both Michael & Helena will hopefully hold and increase our existing representation in this area where we currently hold just one seat that of retiring councilior, Jennifer Cuffe. I would ask that you consider voting #1 & #2 in order of your preference.

BUS CONNECTS NETWORK RE-DESIGN UPDATE & CONSULTATION
After hosting a series of public information evenings late last year, Cormac will now be hosting two more Information Evenings to inform the public about the latest developments of the Bus Connects plans for the bus routes serving this constituency. Cormac will be hosting a Public Information Evening on

 Wednesday 13th November @ 8:15pm in the Loughlinstown Community Rooms 

Wednesday 20th November @ 8:15pm upstairs in The Graduate Public House, Killiney
