The deadline for submissions is Wednesday 27th April.

Local Councillor, Cormac Devlin believes that the scheme has many positive elements but fears that the new traffic proposals could negatively impact some local residents and businesses in the area. "There are proposals to improve the footpath and parking along Monkstown Crescent as well as enhance the centre of the village. There is also plans to introduce two pedestrian crossing points along Monkstown Crescent which are all to be welcomed. However concern has been expressed for the shops near and on Clifton Avenue as it is proposed to make this road a one-way system thus diverting traffic onto neighbouring, parallel roads" said Cllr. Devlin.

In my earlier submission in 2012, I said there was a need for the Council to examine traffic speeds and facilitating pedestrian crossing at the junction of Richmond Hill/Avenue & Knapton Road on Carrickbrennan Road. I also highlighted the need for Packenham Road to be included in this scheme however this was not accepted by officials" he concluded.

These plans are currently on show in County Hall on Marine Road, Dun Laoghaire.
