Local Councillor, Cormac Devlin has been informing local residents (who own/occupy buildings that are Proctected / Listed Structures) that they can now apply for the Conservation Grant Scheme 2011.
The scheme is part of a package of measures introduced by the Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government to assist owners and occupiers of a Protected Structure to undertake the necessary conservation works to secure the conservation of the structure and to strengthen the protection of the architectural heritage. The scheme is not intended to assist in carrying out routine maintenance, alterations or improvements. The Applicant and their Architect/Contractor must be tax compliant (copies of Tax Clearance Certificates must be submitted with the application). Applications have a greater chance of success if they are fully and clearly completed.
The closing date for receipt of applications is 11th March 2011. The work must be completed by the 16th of September 2011, to be eligible for this year’s scheme. Please note that the Grant Scheme for 2011 is subject to available funding from the Department of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government.
