Dalkey local, Justin Moylan has been selected to run alongside Cllr. Cormac Devlin in the Local Elections which will take place on Friday 24th May in the new seven-seat Dún Laoghaire Ward.
The two-candidate strategy is part of the Fianna Fáil’s strategy to increase its representation on Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council. The party currently has 8 out of 40 seats and it is hoping to increase that number in this years local elections. In order to secure two seats locally (in the Dún Laoghaire LEA), we would ask that you give your 1st and 2nd preference votes to both Cormac & Justin (in order of your preference).
Justin grew up in Cabinteely and was educated locally. He lives in Dalkey with his wife and three children where he is an active participant in the community.
Speaking after his selection, Justin said “I am delighted to be selected alongside Cormac to represent Fianna Fáil in Dún Laoghaire for the upcoming 2019 Local Elections”.
"I have seen first-hand the fantastic work undertaken by many local groups including Dublin Lions, Cuala, Dalkey Scouts, CoderDojo and Dalkey United. If elected, I will prioritise improving services and expanding support for local community-based organisations.”
Cormac was first elected to the County Council in 2004, and subsequently re-elected in 2009 and 2014. He was elected Cathaoirleach of the County Council in 2016. During a very successful year as Cathaoirleach he engaged with many community groups, hosted a ceremony awarding the officers and crew of the LE Eithne “Freedom of Entry” to Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown and promoted enterprise in the county.
Cllr. Devlin added "over the past five years Fianna Fáil working with other councillors have increased the council housing stock and improved services while maintaining the maximum 15% reduction in the Local Property Tax. Key challenges for the next term will be increasing the supply of social and affordable housing, improving council services and enhancing our public spaces, particularly Dún Laoghaire Town."
Both Justin & Cormac will be working with Barry Andrews who has been selected as our
Dublin candidate for Fianna Fáil in the European Elections which will take place on the
same day as the local elections on Friday 24th May. Please consider giving Barry your
#1 vote on the day. For more information on Barry or to make contact with his office,
