YELLOW BOX REQUESTED
AT THE ENTRANCE & EXIT
TO KILLINEY SHOPPING CENTRE
February 2007
Local Fianna Fáil County Councillor Cormac Devlin asked the Council to improve traffic flow at Killiney Shopping Centre by providing a yellow box to allow easier entrance and exit for the customers of the shopping centre.
QuestionCouncillor Devlin:
To ask the Manager to install a yellow box outside the exit from the Killiney Shopping Centre, Rochestown Avenue as cars frequently block this exit when either backed up from the roundabout or by the pedestrian lights?
Reply:
Statutory yellow boxes may only be provided at the junction of two public roads. For cases such as the Killiney Shopping Centre, ‘keep clear’ markings are usually quite effective. Although not legally enforceable, they do serve to remind drivers of the location of vehicular access. ‘Keep Clear’ markings will be provided both at the exit and entrance gates of the shopping centre.
