Councillor Cormac Devlin was made aware by many local residents living in close proximity to or who regularly use the Mounttown Roundabout about the safety concerns for their own safety or that of their children. Councillor Devlin placed the following question down at an Area Committee Meeting:
To ask the Manager what, if any, plans are in place to make the roundabout at Mountown safer for pedestrians in the area?
A new roundabout at Mounttown has recently been designed which will provide for the safe movement of all traffic, cyclists and pedestrians. This roundabout forms part of the Foxrock Church to Dun Laoghaire Quality Bus Corridor (Q.B.C.) and Cycle Track Scheme. It is expected that work on site on this Scheme will commence early next year.
