TAG BAG SYSTEM NEEDED IN
GLASTHULE HOUSING

Councillor Cormac Devlin asked the Council to install a "Tag Bag System" of weekly refuse collection for the Eden Villas, Eden Terrace, Eden Court and Coldwell Street, Glasthule area as these streets have difficulty with their waste collection. He placed the following question down at an Area Meeting:

Councillor Cormac Devlin To ask the Manager to place Eden Villas, Eden Terrace, Eden Court and Coldwell Street, Glasthule on the "Label per Bag" Collection Service as this area experiences regular refuse collection difficulties due to the small size of the roads in the area?
Reply:
Collection difficulties arise mainly because of illegal/careless car parking. The use of parking restrictions (yellow lines etc.) is helping this problem and these measures are being considered in the streets mentioned.
The bag collection vehicle would not be smaller than the wheeled bin collection vehicle so no advantage is gained by presenting labelled bags.
