CLLR. DEVLIN FOLLOWS UP ON THE
LANEWAY ISSUE IN CENTRAL
DÚN LAOGHAIRE
October 2005
Councillor for Dún Laoghaire Cormac Devlin placed a motion down at an Area Committee Meeting in February calling on the Council to clean up and make safe the laneways in the centre of Dún Laoghaire in particular the one between Mulgrave Street and Patricks Street. It is now October so he sought an up-date and response on the issue from the Manager:
Question:
To ask the Manager to report back (February 2005) on the meeting held with the Public Lighting Maintenance Contractor on the feasibility and cost of upgrading and improving the lighting in the laneway between Mulgrave Street and Patrick Street, Dun Laoghaire?
Reply:
Following the report given in February 2005 this laneway was placed on the Public Lighting Maintenance Contractors list of works.
Some lanterns on the laneway between Mulgrave Street and Patrick Street, Dun Laoghaire have been upgraded and a new spotlight has been installed to illuminate the small laneway between the houses.
The Council’s Contractor has had great difficultly gaining access to these locations due to parking of cars. They will continue upgrading this location as truck access allows.
