UN-BLOCK DRAIN ON
ROCHESTOWN PARK

March 2007

Local Councillor for the area, Cormac Devlin asked the Council to un-block a drain outside #18 Rochestown Park as this drain is not working correctly.

Question:Councillor Cormac Devlin
To ask the Manager to repair the section footpath along Rochestown Park particularly outside #3, #7, #14 & #24 as they are un-safe for pedestrians?

Reply:
These footpaths will have temporary repairs carried out in the next few weeks.  They are not on the Footpath Restoration Programme for 2007.  However, it may be possible to carry out repairs, if resources become available.

SAFETY BARRIER NEEDED
ON CHURCHVIEW ROAD
TO PROTECT PEDESTRIANS

May 2007

Local Councillor, Cormac Devlin has asked the Council to install a safety barrier on the bend (opposite Watson Avenue) on Churchview Road to protect pedestrians on this bend as cars speed along this section of the road, day and night.

Question:Councillor Cormac Devlin
To ask the Manager to consider placing a safety guard/railing up along the footpath at the bend in Churchview Road (opposite Watson Road) in light of several accidents at this junction?

Reply:
The location referred to, is a sharp bend on Churchview Road at its junction with Watson Road.  The road is subject to a 50km/hr speed limit, at which speed the bend is easily negotiable.  There is currently a bend warning sign on the Wyattville approach to the bend, but none on the Church Road approach.

It is proposed to replace the missing bend warning sign and to mark ‘SLOW’ on the carriageway on both approaches.  Armco-type barriers are not appropriate for 50 km/hr zones in residential areas such as Churchview Road.
